FEB 17 1993
COMMUNITY L) 1rELUhVU4-f DSPr.
PIANNING DIVISION
11999 E Sun Road
Stockton, California 95215
February 16, 1993
Ms. Loree Goold
San Joaquin County Planning Division
1810 East Hazelton
Stockton, California 95205
APPLICATION NO: SA-93-0003 -and SA--93-0004
Dear Ms. Goold:
As proposed, we must voice- .our ob,jectioa. to this apple plant
expansion and new cherry- plant facility . This proposal would trans-
form over twenty acres of land into a. 12 month service operation.
This operation is placed right against neighboring orchards and
residences. On my own orchard I will be denied a right to place
a home. This is a devaluation of the adjoining- properties . Will
neighboring. orchardists. be- guaranteed a right to carry out normal-
cultural
ormalcultural practices as they do now when a proposed picnicsite and
buildings are so close to existing property lines?
Under the present operation 40 foot.. refrigerated trucks are parked
along Jack Tone waiting to enter .this facility for asparagus and
apples. Where will trucks park while waiting to load or unload
during peak processing seasons with increased trucking? The
harvesting of neighboring orchards produce additional cars. and
trucks at the same time traffic would be increasing at this
proposed new and expanded operation. icy orchard. is served by an
existing driveway during harvest which is across from this facility ..
Jack Tone Road has many culverts with drainage pipes placed under
the road. There is one right where a roadway appears to be planned.
iiow will this natural drainageproblem be addressed?
I am not opposed to the building of these commercial processing plants
but. there are designated areas which are suited for commercial
developments . There is a complete lack of consideration when a
proposed plant with fumigation chambers is placed right against
neighboring property owners.
The owners of these facilities do not reside here so they can go
home away owners -of
the noise, garbage , traffic and commexiial atmosphere. -
