According to the Hantzsche and Fennemore equation, there is a potential for a buildup of
nitrates in the groundwater up to 13.9 mg/L NO3. Neil O. Anderson and Associates, Inc.
concludes that the site is suitable for development with the use of modified standard septic
systems as discussed in Section 4.2, Methods of Mitigation.
2. The water sample analyzed for nitrate was found to be at 69.0 mg/L NO3. The maximum
contaminant level for Public Drinking Water standards is 45 mg/L NO3. The Environmental
Health Department may require all new domestic water wells be constructed with grout seals
greater than 100-feet.
If you have any questions, please contact my staff person,Michael F.
