Last year, we successfully fought attempts to put in a slaughter house
on the property located directly across the freeway from the Stonebridge development.
Now they want to use this property as a feed lot for 500 pigs! Having been raised in farm
country, I speak from experience when I say that hogs are the worst! A feed lot will
create more manure than the slaughter house would have. As Stonebridge is primarily
downwind, the smell alone will force us to stay indoors. This will increase the fly
population tremendously, creating a health hazard for our children.
I realize this is a rural community but a concentration of that many animals in such close
proximity to our homes and new school, which opened last July, is a detriment our
health, property values and quality of life.
Sincerely, /
Leisa And Tom Conway
13613 Japser Street
Lathrop, CA 95330
