NANCY TAKASHfRO .
750 W. Frewert Rd. D
Lathrop, CA 95330 a I,n//(,y
December 6, 1999 -
San Joaquin Planning Dept.
San Joaquin Board of Supervisors
Environmental Em pack Committee
Water Resource
Gentlemen,
I am writing in regards to the slaughter house that is to be built at 690 W. Frewert
Road in Lathrop. My home is on the ajoining property just West of the slaughter
house property. My front door faces East toward the property. I understand you
have approved a pond to be built at my front door that will hold the disgarded
bloody water. I do not want such a place to be built at my front door. If this is
permitted please have the pond moved to the back of the existing buildings and have
a lawn planted at my front door.
I have no desire to have such a hideous business as a neighbor. I have endured
Hayres Egg Farming business that created a horrible stench and attracted swarms of
flys. I have my property paid for. This man, Mr. Stagno must think I do not have a
right for peace and happiness. I do not believe you have thoroughly investigated this
sight since it was originally approved. 1 believe you should conduct and publish an
Environmental Survey impact regarding the complete plan to protect my well and
water supply from contamination over a period of time.
I believe if I were not a 78 year old Japanese women, you would not be taking
advantage of me. I have lived here for 57 years. This is my home. I
wish to live in my home in peace for the rest of my life. I feel that if you continue
to let Mr. Stagno kill these animals it will increasingly upset my whole life. I am
afraid my ability to eat and sleep will continue to diminish knowing that these
animals are still being slaughtered next door. I love all animals. I feel this is a crying
shame that you would even consider letting Mr. Stagno kill animals in a peaceful
neighborhood.
I believe from seeing the Modesto Tallo Trucks on a weekly basis that Mr. Stagno
has been butchering on this property since the first day of his arrival. Also, he has 6
