Box 97
Escalon, CA 95320
AGENDA PACKAGE, STAGNO'S MEAT COMPANY, SANJOAQUIN COUNTY
Enclosed is the agenda package for the 17 September 1999 meeting of the Regional Board. Late
revisions to the Tentative WDRs will be made to recommend approval of the permit without relocation
of the existing wastewater treatment pond. This change in our recommendation was based on our review
of San Joaquin County's Use Permit and consideration of potential impacts from the pond versus a spray
field. Relocation of the pond would require installation of a spray field to insure adequate cropland for
disposal of the wastewater. Odor nuisances and uncontrolled runoff are more likely to occur with the
spray field than with the pond. Therefore, the interest of the community may best be served if the pond
is not relocated.
If you have any questions, pleeasee call me at (916) 255-3112.
CAMILLA WILLIAMS
Associate Engineering Geologist
Enclosure
cc: Ms. Frances McChesney, State Water Resources Control Board, Counsel, Sacramento
State Water Resources Control Board, DWQ, Sacramento
Mr. Mike Huggins, Public Health Services of San Joaquin County, Environmental Health
Department, Stockton
Mr. Chuck Farano, San Joaquin County Planning Department, Stockton
Mr. Jon G.
