CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD <br /> CENTRAL VALLEY REGION <br /> MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM NO. 92-054 <br /> FOR <br /> ALPINE PACKING COMPANY <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> Specific sample station locations shall be established under direction of the <br /> Board' s staff and a description of the stations shall be attached to this <br /> Order. <br /> EFFLUENT MONITORING <br /> Effluent samples shall be collected just prior to discharge to the disposal <br /> field. Effluent samples should be representative of the volume and nature of <br /> the discharge. Samples collected from the outlet structure of ponds will be <br /> considered adequately composited. Time of collection of a grab sample shall <br /> be recorded. Effluent monitoring shall include at least the following: <br /> Sampling <br /> Constituents Units Type of Sample Frequency <br /> Nitrates (as N) mg/l Grab Monthly <br /> Nitrites (as N) mg/1 Grab Monthly <br /> Total Kjeldahl mg/l Grab Monthly <br /> Nitrogen <br /> Fixed Total mg/l Grab Weekly <br /> Dissolved Solids <br /> pH pH Units Grab Weekly <br /> Flow mgd Cumulative Daily <br /> SOLIDS MONITORING <br /> The Discharger shall record the volume of solids generated at the facility, <br /> and dates and volumes disposed, and the name of the waste hauler. <br /> GROUND WATER MONITORING <br /> Ground water monitoring is being deferred. If ordered by the Executive <br /> Officer, three shallow monitoring wells shall be installed around the ponds <br /> and disposal area. Water samples shall be collected from the wells and <br /> analyzed as below; sample results shall be submitted to the Board. <br /> The shallow monitoring wells shall be sited and installed by a Registered <br /> Civil Engineer or a Certified Engineering Geologist. One well shall be <br /> upgradient of the ponds and disposal area and two downgradient. The engineer <br /> shall submit construction plans to the Regional Board within 120 days of being <br /> ordered by the Executive Officer, and the monitoring wells shall be installed <br /> within 30 days of staff approval of the plans. <br />
