Because Bear Creek Winery was
operating with a permit that was issued prior to monitoring requirements, staff has prepared the attached
draft Monitoring and Reporting Program(MRP) for your review. By 15 September 2000 please provide
comments on the draft MRP. After finalization of the MRP,Bear Creek Winery will be directed to
initiate monitoring. The data collected will be used in the preparation of the revised WDRs.
Because Bear Creek has not yet installed groundwater monitoring wells, that portion of the monitoring
requirements is delayed until the wells can be installed. By 30 November 2000 please provide a
groundwater monitoring workplan, including a project schedule. The workplan shall be consistent with
the attached guidance document. It is anticipated that Bear Creek Winery will begin groundwater
monitoring by the Second Quarter 2001.
Please telephone me at (916) 255-3116 to provide comments on the draft MRP, or if you have any
questions regarding the draft MRP, groundwater well installation requirements, or the WDR update
process.
 r
Timothy R.
