The I.C. is being used to control emissions from the soil vapor extraction system
operating at the Former Arco Mini Mart site.
The attached calculations show that the I.C. was meetingthe 95% efficiency standard and that
Y
the effluent emissions are below the required 40.7 pounds per day. The I.C. has been in
Y continuous operation since the February 5, 2002 inspection.
The laboratory results for the effluent show the presence of high levels of hydrocarbons in the
"C2-C4" range. However, the influent results did not show the presence of "C2-C4" range
hydrocarbons. A call was made to Air Toxics Ltd. regarding this inconsistency. Lisa Argento
reported that "C2-C4" hydrocarbons in the effluent could be a result of unburned propane,
which is a "C3" hydrocarbon. The contractor supplying the I.C. has been contacted and was
f asked to reduce the volume ofpropane being added as supplemental fuel.
fMonthly samples will continue to be collected and the results will be submitted to your office.
If you should have any questions regarding this project please contact myself or Ray Kablanow
at the office.
Respectfully omitted,
GFOLOGlCdL TFCidNlCS!NG
w
Michael J.
