If not considered to be a regional <br /> problem Kleinfelder would again recommend that the RWQCB review other <br /> potential sources of nitrates-nitrogen in the surface and groundwater within the <br /> area. Specifically, Kleinfelder recommends that further investigation of nitrates in <br /> surface and shallow groundwater to the east southeast and west of the nursery be <br /> conducted. <br /> C. The RWQCB should investigate potential sources of nitrates (other than Norman's <br /> Nursery) in the deeper groundwater as represented by samples obtained from <br /> production wells in the vicinity of the Dodge and Eason properties. These sources <br /> may include, but are not necessarily limited to, septic systems and fertilization in <br /> that area, and improperly sealed production wells and other potential conduits to <br /> the deeper groundwater. <br /> D . Kleinfelder recommends that the RWQCB review other potential sources of <br /> nitrates-nitrogen in the surface water within the area . Specifically, Kleinfelder <br /> recommends that further investigation of nitrates in surface water to the east and <br /> southeast of the nursery be conducted. In light of the evidence produced to date , a <br /> reduced monitoring schedule should be considered . <br /> E . Kleinfelder recommends that Norman's Nursery continue to incorporate <br /> observations of Basin D into daily surface water observations and to collect a <br /> sample for analysis if discharge into the creek is observed . <br /> F .
