n C)
2.2_ _Proposed Development
The current land use applic7no
involves subdivi ing the Site into two new parcels.
According to Mr. Lombardidevelopment is , lanned (personal communication,
October 2, 2009).
2.3 Topography
A recent U.S. Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map was obtained the
San Joaquin County District Viewer. In the map, the Site is depicted abare land. An
intermittent stream crosses near the northern boundary of the Site. The prope is
approximately 90 feet above mea ea-level in an area with a slight gra o the
northeast. Surrounding properties are primarily hown to be vacant or agricultural land.
This map is included as Plate 3 in' Appendix 1.
3.0 HISTORICAL RESEARCH
3.1 Aerial Photographs
LOGE reviewed aerial photographs of the Site available from the San Joaquin County
Surveyor's Office in Stockton, California. The photographs were dated 1937, 1952,
1963, and 9975. Two additional photographs, dated 1998 and September 2008, were
obtained from the San Joaquin County District Viewer.
In the 1937 photo, the Site appears to be used for a dry crop such as oats or hay. The
natural topography of the Site is evident. A meandering stream can be seen along the
northern side of the Site. Surrounding properties appear to be unused or used for
similar dry crops.
In the 1952 photo, the Site appears unused. The surrounding properties to the west,
east, and south have been graded and are now used for irrigated pasture, rice, or row
crops.
In the 1963 photo, two small roads, possibly cattle paths, can be seen on the Site. The '
property to the north now appears to be used for rice production.
In the 1975 photo, structures are apparent on the properties to the north and west.
Surrounding properties remain in agricultural use. Only traces remain of the roads or
cattle paths on the Site.
In the 1998 photo, it appears that the stream crossing the Site has been rerouted into a /
canal along the northern Site boundary. The residential streets to the south and
southwest are apparent, as well as several rural residences in this area.
LOGE0913 Page 2
