i
v, November 4,2005
NOA Project Number: E05133A
4.0 EVALUATION OF IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES
L
Agricultural chemical residues may remain on the property. No evidence was found, however, to
i indicate that the chemicals were applied inappropriately.
L
5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
L
Given the historical uses of agricultural chemicals on the subject property, meaningful conclusions
regarding the presence or extent of such material cannot be determined without soil sampling and
analysis. Such sampling and analysis is especially warranted in the conversion of agricultural land into (5- 0
residential use, as is the case for this property.
Should the future residents of the subject property be interested in determining the quality of their
drinking water, EHD should be contacted for direction regarding the potential for impacts to (5,ij
groundwater from the agricultural history of the property and vicinity.
V
The portion of Pixley Slough that runs along the eastern side of the subject property should be /
periodically monitored for indiscriminate disposal of potentially hazardous materials.
r
Any infrastructure contamination or buried debris that may be encountered during site grading or
development should be removed and disposed of in accordance with all applicable regulations.
6.0 LIMITATIONS
L
This report was compiled as a Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report for the subject property.
j This report contains information and data provided to NOA by several sources. NOA in no way
. warrants the accuracy or completeness of the information provided to this investigation by those
sources.
It should be noted that when an environmental assessment is completed without sample collection and
quantitative analysis of soil and groundwater beneath the site,as in this study,no statement of scientific
certainty can be made regarding latent subsurface conditions which may be the result of on-site or off-
60 site sources. The findings and conclusions of this report are not scientific certainties, but rather,
probabilities based on professional judgement concerning the significance of the data gathered during
the course of this investigation. NOA is not able to represent that the site or adjoining land contains
L no hazardous waste, oil, underground storage tanks,or other latent condition beyond that detected or
observed by NOA during the Surface and Subsurface assessment. The possibility always exists for
t contaminants to migrate through surface water, air,or groundwater.
L
Our office has not been provided with specific criteria for the development of this report other than
a request to evaluate the property in question for possible problems related to toxic or hazardous agents,
L
9
L
