t
a-V:
' DIRECTOR ORBUILDING AND PLANNING
1810 E. HAZELTON
k STOCKTON, CA. 95205
December 1 1996
RE: APPLICATION NUMBER: UP*-6 31996
APPLICANT: Dahrm Singh .+r 7?Ff(Vr i
16101 W. Grantline Rd. ' PLA
Tracy, CA: 95376 IG t✓'>'r4irk , L'":
u
We, the undersigned property owners in the vicinity of the proposed Sikh Community
Temple, do hereby object on the following grounds:
According to the Site Plan Map, 56 parking spaces are to be provided on the property.
Where will the remaining cars be parked? For a congregation of 170+ persons, the -
parking seems inadequate.
Grantline Road is a narrow roadway with no paved shoulders. It is very highly trafficked
during the week with the overflow from I-205 commuters , and on the weekends when
there are races at the Altamont Speedway or games in the Bay Area, on top of that,
holiday traffic on this road is horrendous. When Mountain House begins to develop, it
will be even more congested. If the overflow cars park alongside the roadway, it will
'f create a dangerous situation. School buses and personal cars transporting children to and
from school add to the congestion.
'k
iAre storm drains planned for said parking lot for run-off of rain water? We are
concerned that water and sewer needs be addressed. The existing house on the property
has a residential well and septic, hardly adequate for use for 170+ persons. The water
problems in this area are well known, i.e. Santos Ranch& Los Ranchos.
We are told that there will only be services on Sunday. What happens when weddings,
'F funerals and church holidays are scheduled? Will they only be on Sunday and limited to
F 170 people? Is a school on the premises in the future plans?
What about crop dusting, ground tilling, burning, etc.? The Grantline Road area between
Byron Road and Hansen Road, (area of proposed temple) is mostly open farm land. Will
we be restricted in our farming operations when there are sessions at the church?
k
We need satisfactory answers for our questions and concerns.
See attached signature sheet.
