Elliott, Kleinfelder Staff Geologist, performed a site reconnaissance on
September 29, 2006 to assess and photograph present site conditions. The
` approximate site boundaries are shown on Plate 2, "Site Map," and color photographs
of the site are presented on Plate 3 (Appendix A). The site conditions discussed below
are limited to readily apparent environmental conditions!observed. Kleinfelder was not
authorized to eater the interior of the residence located on the subject site.
4.2. GENERAL SITE SETTING
The site is the southernmost property on the eastern side of a undeveloped road that
extends south from Grant Line Road near the San Joaquin-Alameda County border in
Tracy, California (APN 209-07-26). The site encompasses approximately 13 acres and
is bisected by a stream that trends southwest to northeast. Currently the site is a fallow
field with a building area.
El In the northwestern corner of the site is a farmhouse area about one acre in size. One
residence, one barn, and one shed are located in this area. A domestic well with an
associated pressure tank is located east of the residence. The barn is directly south of
the residence. The shed is located east of the barn. North of the barn is a gravel paved
driveway. West of the barn on the driveway are two soillstains, and north of the barn on
the dirt driveway three soil stains were noted. At least four of the five stains appeared
to represent deminimus conditions. These stains were approximately two feet in
diameter. Two large trucks and a burn area were located south of the barn. The burned
debris including metal, wood and other various household debris. Adjacent to the west
of the burn area a soil pile approximately 75 cubic yards in size was noted. A debris
pile consisting of a tire, metal and wood debris was located northeast of the residence.
Additional debris and a PMT were noted in the northeast portion of the building area.
Two cars, a boat, a tractor, and numerous trailers were parked around the onsite
structures. A fire hydrant is located near the northwestern corner of the residence. An
4 automotive battery and a 1-gallon antifreeze container was located west of the
residence. West-southwest of the barn is a second smaller burn area. Only ash debris
was noted in this area. Numerous debris piles are located scattered throughout the
residential area of the site. The debris piles consisted of metal debris, wood debris,
household rubbish, vinyl fencing, and tires.
The approximate 12 acres of the site is a fallow field. A stream trends southwest to
northeast across the center of the subject site. A culvert for the stream runs under the
unnamed road. An AST that appears to be used for water is located near the eastern
76114.P01/5T06R1065/JCE:Iv Page 9 of 18
©2006 Kleinfelder, Inc. October 19, 2006
