kTJ KLEINFELDER
5 EVALUATIONS
t
Kleinfelder performed this site reconnaissance update of the subject site in
conformance with the site reconnaissance portion of ASTM Practice E1527-00 and
applicable limitations. In summary, Kleinfelder's assessment revealed the following
information about the subject site:
5.1. FINDINGS
The following sections describe Kleinfelder's site reconnaissance findings and general
background information about the site. Findings include recognized environmental
conditions, historically recognized environmental conditions, and deminimus quantities,
as applicable to the subject site. Business environmental risk issues are discussed in
Section 2.5.
5.1.1. Background Information
Based on Kleinfelder's initial ESA (aerial photographs, interviews, and topographic
maps), etc. reviewed during the initial Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, the site
has been used for agricultural use since at least 1957.
5.1.2. Onsite Findings
An AST is located near the eastern border of the site.
+ On properties with a history of agricultural use, such as the project site, many
underground pipelines may exist. It was common for said pipelines to contain
asbestos (e.g. "Transite" pipe).
"y
• Because of the historical agricultural use of the site, environmentally persistent
pesticides may be present on site. This issue however, was addressed
previously in Kleinfelder's former ESA. See additional comments in Section 6.
• A septic system is located directly south of the residence on site.
+ Debris is scattered throughout the approximate 1-acre yard surrounding the
residence. The debris piles include scrap metal such as wires, pipes, paint
containers, appliances, corrugated metal, and mechanical and motor parts, wood
Ik boards, and vinyl fencing. An automotive battery; and a antifreeze container are
among the debris located west of the residence.
76114.P01/ST06R1065/JCl=av Page 13 of 18
2006 Kleinfelder, Inc.
