SETTING The site of the proposed Altamont Heights project is near the western boundary of the Mountain House Community and south of the existing Grant Line Village residences. The site has been used for dry farming in the past. The project site is currently surrounded by mostly vacant land either under agriculture production or laying fallow. Figure 4.9-1 shows land uses directly north/northwest of the project site. Figure 4.9-1. Views of Grant Line Village homesites. Since implementation of the Mountain House Master Plan(MHMP)in 1994, development has been occurring in the central portion of the Mountain House Community. Neighborhood F has been built out and Neighborhoods E and G are partially occupied while construction of these neighborhoods continues as evident in the aerial photo in Figure 2-1. Plans have been approved for the Mountain House Business Park located in the southeast corner of the Mountain House Community. 448
