The water to _ en rising in the Stockton area due to the cessation of pumping from six
deep wells. Th domestic ell was d and tested by Far West Labs, and tested for DBCP
E and Nitrates. Th s are repZsive
811 d DBCP<0.01.The sample log-in record is included (Z.-2! {
I along with the test reports. of Smith&Associates was present for the
sampling. There is no chain of custody document. The irrigation well is located on the west
property line.
The sample does not meet current California primary drinking water standards for Nitrate. 1
SOIL PROFILE INFORMATION
A portion of the TPM is included showing the residential parcel and the existing development ( f 1
together with the location of the two test holes. The two 6" test holes were hand augured to 42" a
third 4" hole was augured to refusal at approximately T for soil profile. The soil is classified as
fine sandy loam. Pits are required in this type of soil.
r
PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION
No pit was dug. The field form dated 3119109 contains the test data and is included in this
report. The two 6" diamenter test holes were sleeved with 4" PVC pipe. Two inches of small
gravel weere placed in the bottom of the holes. Additional gravel was placed aaround the PVC
pipe as shown on the included schematic detail. The two holes were 42" deep. The 24 hour pre-
soak began on 3118/09 at 1000 hours. (12" of water placed in each hole) Both holes were dry
after the 24 hour pre-soak. The 4 hour test portion began at 1000 hours on 3119109. The tests
conformed to SJC Policy EHD 02-02. Mr. Mike Escotto SR. R.E.H.S. was present for the
required readings. Visual observations of the excavated soil indicated a satisfactory profile.
Summary of tests: Both shallow holes failed. No tests were made on the Remainder.
CONCLUSION
In view of no plans to add new development, the expense of additional re-test at this time does
not appear warranted. The parcel can be conditioned by the EHD to control development.
The size of the parcel is 3.02 gross acres and 2.7 net. The domestic well requires a radius of 150'
clear(1.6 acres), the irrigation well requires 0.8 acre clear and the two existing septic systems
require an estimated 0.5 acres expansion, structures and paved area, also dirt road in back are in
place.. There is not adequate room for another septic system with the present development
considering clearance required from the property lines.
2.
