Secondary Access
Development Title Section 9-1150.15(a) requires that in agricultural areas any private right-of way that
exceeds one-half(1/2) mile in length or serves more than sixteen (16) lots shall have a secondary method of
access. Secondary access is required for Parcel 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 as the proposed private right-of-way
exceeds Y mile in length.
The requirement for secondary access may be waived in areas designated General Agriculture (A/G) in the
General Plan if the Director finds that physical conditions make the provision of secondary access
impractical. The applicant can request in writing that the secondary access requirement be waived or the
secondary access must be shown on the Final Map.
The applicant has submitted a letter dated December 17, 2012, requesting to waive the requirement for
secondary access because that the lots being created will remain in agricultural production and the site
topography, rolling hills, makes secondary access impractical. The Community Development Department
has reviewed the proposed request by the applicant and is recommending that the Planning Commission
waive the requirement for secondary access.
San Joaquin County PA-1200230\Quartaroli & Associates, Inc
Community Development Page 4
