Revised Site Characterization Work Plan
SMH Mountain House,LLC
Page 5
4.2.4 Liner Removal and Backfill
The FML material and associated appurtenances (piping, sumps, pumps, wiring, etc.) will be removed for
recycling or disposal at a sanitary landfill. The excavation will be filled and graded to the original
topographic surface.
_ 5.0 SCHEDULE AND REPORTING
Once SMH receives approval from the Regional Board staff regarding this Site Characterization Work
Plan and prior to any construction activity related to decommissioning, SMH will initiate the liner subsoil
sampling activities and risk evaluation. An interim report of results will be prepared and submitted to the
Regional Water Board for review and approval. If COPC are identified under the reservoirs as a result of
the sub-liner soil sampling, the risks associated with any such COPC will be evaluated and discussed in
the report; also, a supplemental Work Plan will be included proposing further action, if any, to address
remediation or mitigation of risks to groundwater degradation. If no COPC are identified, there is no risk
from the subsoil beneath the reservoirs and SMH will schedule decommissioning activities at a future
time yet to be determined. The Regional Water Board staff will be notified 2 weeks prior to
commencement of any decommissioning construction work. All construction work will be performed in
accordance with construction stormwater regulations. Following completion of the regrading activities, a
final closure report will be prepared for submittal to the Regional Water Board. This report will include
details of residual solids disposal, backfill operations and will include photographs of the final site
configuration. The report will include a request for written acknowledgment from the Regional Water
Board that the wastewater discharge facilities were decommissioned according to guidance and with the
concurrence of the Regional Water Board.
6.0 LIMITATIONS AND SIGNATURES
Condor prepared this Work Plan under the direct supervision and responsible charge of a Professional
Geologist in the State of California, who is familiar with the information presented in this Work Plan and
all of its Attachments.
