Areas south and west of site are similar. The only
animal seen on-site is the brush rabbit(aka western brush rabbit).
CALIFORNIA NATURAL DIVERSITY DATABASE
The analysis for this site was automatically generated by the CNDDB. Six species were listed as possibly
present on site. None of these has been seen on or near the site.
The tiger salamander houses in burrows vacated by ground squirrels. However,no ground burrowing squirrels
reside near this site. Therefore, the tiger salamander cannot live here. Small populations of these hawks also winter in Florida, and the Central Valley of
California.
iWhilst a small population winters in the valley, the conditions at 700 S. Hewitt Road are not those sought by Swainson's hawk. No
such hawks have been seen in the area.A wintering map from Boise State University(attached), shows these wintering areas to be
south of the Linden area.
Valley Elderberry Longhorn Beetle:
1 The valley elderberry longhorn beetle(beetle)is completely dependent on its host plant, elderberry(Sambucus species),which is a
common component of the remaining riparian forests and adjacent upland habitats of California's Central Valley.
There are no riparian forests in the area of the site. Additionally,no elderberry bushes are on-site.
k The above beetle information is taken from: http://www.fws.gov/sacramento/es/documents/velb conservation.htm This site
is a product of the Sacramento Fish and Wildlife Service. The paper is titled, Conservation Guidelines for the
Valley Elderberry Longhorn Beetle.
CONCLUSION:
No endangered or threatened species are on-site. No important habitats are on-site.
