4. Item 4. If the Department requires to apply for"Compost Permit", the
quantity of compost to spred out in the remainder 3+acres will be enough to
fertilizer the area. According to some autors the demand of compost or
fertilizer is about 100 pounds per hundred square feet. This amount is about
right but it varies depend on the kind of crops. For example, if you grow the
kind of crops the root spread widely about few inches under the ground the
nutrients absorpt by plant roots are different from the ones with the roots
which get deeper into the ground.
Threfore, in the remainder of the area, we will grow plants
accoding the demand of the nutrients. The nutrients will absorb by the plants
so that the ground will not be or less contaminated.
5. Item 5. We did not mention this in our plan because since we get the
property at the 2314S Hollenbeck Rd, we always raise some chicken for
personal use, therefore feed spillage did and will use to feed our chicken for
personal use. We come from he country with many years of war, the land,
the water, the air are contaminated by many harmful products such as
"orange agent" ... many of us got mysteriuos illnesses. To avoid this we try
to eat what we could provide by ourself. The feed spllage will not be a
problem with us, our chicken for personal use will consume all of them.
6. Item 6. We did include the incinerator for the disposal of mortality in our
plan only for prevention if the "avian flu" unfortunately get in this country,
if this pandemic flu arrives. every dead bird after inspected by the public
health will be incenerated. However, we think that the pandemic flu could
not outbreak in this country with so many scientists from many government
agencies and universities, but the dead from the old age and accident could
not be avoided, we plan it only for prevention. From our experiences, if we
raise the bird or any animals according to their normal life, we did not have
any deads in our facilities.. Because the law requires, we did go and get
information from the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Contrrol District at
Modesto, because our facility is too small, the engineer advissed us to send
dead bird to the rendering plant.
Following his advise we found the following Licensed Dead Animal
Haulers in the Central Valley: Best Way Animal Disposal in Madera,
Shayne's Custom Calves in Merced, and Sisk Recycling Co in Turlock.
If we have any dead bird we will send them to one of these facility for
incineration.
I hope the above explanations will clarify your concerns.
Respe lly yours.
Le Ngoc-San
