We are requesting a change of use on the property from Ag to Ag Processing. The walnut packing operation <br /> plans to pack walnuts for other growers in the future_ Walnuts are packed inshell in bulk 25kg bags for export. Walnut hulling operation <br /> runs for 5 weeks from the end of September through the end of October, six days a week. The walnut packing line will run from the <br /> beginning of October through the middle of December 5 days a week. Project will consist of 5 phases. Phase 1 will be the construction of <br /> a 27,000 square foot ag warehouse. Phase 2 by year 4 will be the construction of a 1,020 sq ft fumigation chamber. Phase 3 by year 6 will <br /> be the construction of a 10,000 sq ft Ag Building. The walnut hulling operation uses 1 forklift in addition to the machinery used for the packing and hulling. <br /> Describe materials produced,stored or used(all hazardous materials should be included): No materials are used in walnut hulling. <br /> The walnut packing line uses nylon bags, stretch wrap and sewing string. The walnut packing line also uses Profume for fumigation <br /> purposes prior to packing. Profume is a composed of Sulfuryl Fluoride and is non flammable and a non corrosive gas. Up to 1500 lbs of <br /> he gas are stored on a locked enclosed fence area next to the fumigation building. The walnut huller does produce hull waste. The hull <br /> waste Is piled up by an auger or,a concrete slap. After the season these hulls are spread on a neighboring parcel and used as organic <br /> matter to supplement the nutrients in the soil. The walnut huller also uses water to clean the walnuts in the operation. This water is <br /> captured in an adjacent pond which is clay lined.
