This means it is not a
Public Water System. It is exempt from being permitted as one. But... any day it could become a public water system. If
they changed how they operated and served water to the public to drink which would require them to obtain a permit
to operate a PWS. For today's question, the site is not served by a public water system.
If the market was defined as a Transient Non-community water system, then yes it is served by a public water system
and would count when you evaluate the site for closure using the LTCP.
This issue was brought up by State Board and they are counting Small Public Water Systems (with onsite wells) as a
public water service.
Adrienne
From: Harlin Knoll [EH]
Sent: Wednesday, August 28, 2013 8:16 AM
To: Adrienne Ellsaesser [EH]
Cc: mike.sonke@cardno.com
Subject: FW: 6732 Hwy. 88, LOP Case Closure Report, 3 Palms/Bozzano, - Small Community Water System = Public
Water System?
Adrienne:
I can't answer the questions below.
Harlin Knoll, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
1868 E.
