This letter presents the results of the sampling and tests. On December 5, 1994, a test hole was excavated to a depth of 8.0 feet. The test hole was located in the area of the proposed leach field, adjacent to the B-3 test boring location (see the attached location map) . Ground water was encountered at a depth of 7.5 feet and a sample of it was obtained for testing. The sample was submitted to the laboratory and tested for nitrate content. A copy of the test results is attached. The sample had a nitrate content of 48 mg/l, which is over the Maximum Contaminate Level (MCL) of 45 mg/1. Subsequently, it was requested that an additional ground water sample be obtained at a deeper depth and tested for nitrate content. On December 20, 1994 a second test hole was excavated to a depth of 15 feet adjacent to the first test hole location. A PVC pipe was placed in the test hole and backfilled with a bentonite seal. The hole was then purged several times until the water became clear. A ground water sample was then obtained from the 15 foot depth. This sample was submitted to the laboratory and tested for nitrate content. A copy of this test result is also attached. The sample had a nitrate content of 26 mg/l, which is below the MCL.
