OLD RIVER GOLF COURSE <br /> Page No. 5 <br /> soil is utilized for fill the above noted modifications to the fill <br /> specifications should be made. our office should be contacted <br /> prior to grading operations to determine the classification and <br /> acceptability of any proposed building pad fill. <br /> If grading is accomplished as specified foundations may <br /> consist of conventional spread footings. Foundations vary slightly <br /> depending on if clay soils exist on the surface of the completed <br /> building pad. This determination should be made by a <br /> representative of our office at the time of grading operations. <br /> Option 1, No Clay Soils Present <br /> Depth of spread footings should be 12 inches deep for <br /> single story and 15 inches deep for two story. Minimum width <br /> of footings should be established as 12 inches. Footings <br /> should be continuously reinforced with 1 - #4 bar top and <br /> bottom (total of 2 bars) . <br /> Four inches of clean gravel should be placed beneath the <br /> slab-on-grade. This gravel should be well graded between a <br /> maximum size of 1 inch and a minimum size of 1/4 inch with <br /> zero percent passing the No. 4 sieve. The gravel should be <br /> covered by a impervious vapor barrier such as 6 mil visqueen <br /> or equivalent. The visqueen should be covered by 1 to 2 <br /> inches of sand to protect it during construction and to aid in <br /> curing the concrete. It is recommended that the slab be a <br /> minimum of 4 inches thick and be reinforced with 6x6xl.4xl.4 <br /> wire mesh. <br /> Option 2, Clay Soils Present <br /> Depth of spread footings should be 18 inches deep for <br /> either one or two story and should be continuous around the <br /> perimeter of the building to also serve as a cut-off wall. <br /> Minimum width of footings should be established as 12 inches. <br /> Footings should be continuously reinforced with 2-#4 bars top <br /> and bottom (total of 4 bars) . <br /> Six inches of clean gravel should be placed beneath the <br /> slab-on-grade. This gravel should be well graded between a <br /> maximum size of 1 inch and a minimum size of 1/4 inch with <br /> zero percent passing the No. 4 sieve.
