Corporate OffiCE
3500 American River Drive
P.O. Box 7500:
... Sacramento, Calif.9585-
TS3CHERT AGGREGATES (916)484-301-
October 31, 1990
HAND-DELIVERED
Ms. Kitty Walker, Senior Planner
Planning Division
San Joaquin County
1810 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
Dear Ms. Walker:
The intent of this correspondence is to specify the method for
conveying aggregate from the Rose property to our nearby
processing facility. Material is to be delivered by a conveyor
system through a tunnel to be built by Teichert Construction
under MacArthur Road. With the exception of activity associated
with the removal of the initial overburden and employee ingress
and egress, there will be no anticipated street truck routes or
significant ingress or egress points at the site for truck
traffic. All of the harvested material will be removed from the
- site via conveyor belt.
Construction of this underground tunnel will use an open cut
method for installation of a culvert which will house the
conveyor belt system. Teichert has successfully used this
approach in the past.
Engineering details will comply with San Joaquin County and
Caltrans regulations. The proposed culvert will enclose the
conveyor system that passes under MacArthur Road and will be of
- sufficient height to allow repair work to occur.
Teichert invites Planning and Public Works staff to tour our
Perkins Plant. This Sacramento facility is supplied via a four-
mile long conveyor system which passes through several
underground tunnels on its way to Perkins. Conveying aggregate
by this method reduces noise, dust, and traffic.
SACRAMENTO STOCKTON TRACY TRUCKEE WOODLAND
