L :20 . If the nature of v e deposit and the mining method used permit,
describe and show the steps or phases of the mining operation that
allow concurrent reclamation . Include a proposed time schedule
for such concurrent activities . The proposed project consists of one
phase. Reclamation of slopes will begin immediately after reaching the maximum
depth of ±SO' .
E
v
21. Describe the ultimate physical condition of the site and specify
proposed use (s ) or potential uses , of the mined lands once
reclaimed . Teichert will restore the land to agricultural production
L Finished depth will be 25 to 30 feet below the existing surface and the floor
area will be ± 43.4 acres.
22. For operations occurring within or adjacent to a seasonal or per—
manent stream, river , or other -body of water , describe actions
being taken to protect water quality and wildlife habitat : N/A
L 23 . Describe any actions being taken during the project and as part of
the reclamation process that will enchange wildlife habitat _ Also
describe any trees or vegetation to be removed : The existing walnut
orchard will be removed. The post-mining use will be agriculture. The net
effect will therefore be minimal to wildlife habitat
24 . Describe soil conditions and proposed soil salvage plan .
The ± 14 ' overburden will be stripped and stock-piled on site. Clay lenses_
L will also be stock-piled on site. These soils will be used to reclaim slopes_
and the pit floor. (See attached maps. )
25 . On an attached page, describe methods , sequence , and timing for
bringing reclamation of the land to its end state . Indicate on
the site plan, or on diagrams as necessary . Include discussion of
the following items :
A. Backfilling and grading
B . Stabilization of slopes
L C . Stabilization o_° permanent waste dumps , tailings, etc .
D. Rehabilitation of pre-mining drainage
E . Removal , disposal or utilization of residual eouip^ ent ,
structures , refuse , etc .
F. Control of contaminants, especially with regard to surface
runoff and ground water
G . Treatment of streambeds to control erosion and sedimentation.
1 H. Removal or minimization of residual hazards
IL I . Resoiling and reveaetation, with evidence that selected plants
can survive the specific topography, soil , and climate of the
site
Reclamation Plan
Quarry Excavation - 4 - ( 3/89 )
