Randy Wall -2-
QX-91-5
• Sheet 4 of 6
• The "match line" with Sheet 5 does not match.
• It is not clear what the diagonal lines shown on
the benches are trying to depict.
• Please check the spacing of the down drains. It
appears there may be a location or two that
exceeds the 1500 foot spacing.
• Sheet 5 of 6
• See comments for Sheet 4 of 6
• Section A5 shows the cut-off ditch along the
property line. The hinge point elevation for the
quarry slope should be lower than the elevation at
the property line to insure that, if the ditch,
overflows, it flows into the quarry pit and not
onto adjacent property.
• Sheet 6 of 6
• See comments for Sheets 4 and 5.
The drainage calcs submitted with your resubmittal have been
reviewed. I was not able to verify the drainage area used in
calculating the size for the cut-off ditches around the quarry
site. I have included, for your information, excerpts from the
DRAINAGE REPORT for Bird Road-West prepared by Omni-Means and the
State Water Project California Aqueduct CROSS DRAINAGE FACILITIES
HYDROLOGIC AND HYDRAULIC REPORT. There is apparently an
"overshoot" across the California Aqueduct to which the drainage
from your property should be directed. From a table that I have
included, it appears that the water goes through a 36" diameter
pipe across the aqueduct. The inflow to the pipe was calculated
245 cfs and the outflow at 58 cfs. Therefore, the table
indicates that water will be ponded behind this culvert to an
elevation of 246. 5 . I am not sure of the datum this elevation,
but this information should be taken into consideration as part
of your drainage analysis.
Your resubmittal does not address the last paragraph in my August
28th letter to you regarding an updated Financial Guarantee as
well as documentation that the Fish and Game and Fish and
Wildlife requirements have been met.
