INFORMATION SHEET
ORDER NO.
TEICHERT AGGREGATES AND CALAVERAS MATERIALS, INC.
TRACY ROCK PLANT AND FLINTKOTE SETTLING PONDS
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
Teichert Aggregates owns and operates the Tracy Rock aggregate processing facility at 29099 South
Macarthur Road in Tracy, San Joaquin County. Teichert processes earth materials excavated in the
surrounding area. The facility was constructed in the 1930's; Teichert has owned the facility in the
1950's. The processing facility occupies approximately ten acres. The Tracy Rock aggregate facility
is expected to operate for approximately ten more years. Teichert does not presently operate a concrete
plant or an asphalt plant but if market conditions dictate, could install or lease land to a producer.
Teichert expects to produce approximately one million tons of aggregate per year. Approximately 5.76
million gallons of wastewater is generated on a daily basis. Most of the water is recycled but due to
evaporation and percolation, approximately 2.6 million gallons of make up water is needed. The
wastewater is discharged to settling ponds located on the Flintkote property which is owned by
Calaveras Materials, Inc. No flocculants are added to the wastewater.
Groundwater occurs approximately 90 feet below the ground surface. The wastewater ponds are
located above the groundwater table. No groundwater monitoring wells exist on the property, one
industrial process supply well exists near the aggregate processing equipment. This Order does not
require groundwater monitoring because chemicals are not added to the wastewater and because of the
low likelihood of the discharge impacting groundwater quality.
The surrounding land uses are industrial and agricultural.
TRO: 3/22/2001
C\Prgi=Vijftzs MTcr -Tx R Vnfo.drc
