In addition to satisfying the County noise standards (with the 400-foot scraper setback restriction
on nighttime operations), noise levels associated with excavation activities are expected to be
approximately equal to or slightly above existing ambient noise levels at the two nearest residences.
Therefore, the increase in ambient noise levels resulting from excavation operations at the proposed
Train site are not expected to adversely affect the existing residences to the south of the site.
CONCLUSIONS
Noise produced by excavation operations at the proposed Teichert Train site in San Joaquin County
is predicted to be within acceptable limits as defined by applicable San Joaquin County standards,
provided that the scraper operations do not occur within 400 feet of the two southerly residences
during the nighttime hours(10 pm to 7 am). Although Teichert-generated noise may be audible at
the exterior spaces of the nearest residences, it is not normally expected to significantly exceed
existing ambient noise levels at those locations.
Respectfully Submitted,
Brown-Buntin Associates,Inc.
