TRAINA PROPERTY <br /> SOILS EVALUATION <br /> AND <br /> RECLAMATION PLAN <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> Dellavalle Laboratory, Inc. is presenting a soils evaluation and reclamation plan for a proposed <br /> 147 acre mining site on a 157 acre property identified as the Traina property in San Joaquin <br /> County, California. Teichert, Inc. intends to mine aggregate and reclaim the property to <br /> agriculture. <br /> This work was performed at the request of Ms. Kim Tarbell,project manager for Teichert, Inc. <br /> The field work was performed in September 1996. The location of the property is indicated on <br /> the attached vicinity map provided by Teichert, Inc. The locations of backhoe excavation sites, <br /> soil limitations and soil type boundaries are on the soil map (see Appendix A). <br /> PURPOSE <br /> The purpose of this report is: <br /> 1. To document existing soil conditions. <br /> 2. To determine if conditions are conducive to successful reclamation. <br /> 3. To offer a strategy for safeguarding soil properties during the removal and stockpiling <br /> processes. <br /> 4. To offer a strategy for successful soil removal,replacement and reclamation in <br /> accordance with the standards developed by the State of California Department of <br /> Conservation, Division of Mining and Geology, pursuant to the S.M.A.R.A. section <br /> 2773(b). <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The scope of work included in this investigation is as follows: <br /> 1. Selection and layout of backhoe excavation site locations in the proposed mining areas. <br /> 2. Performing field observations of soil profiles exposed in selected backhoe excavations. <br /> 3. Recovering soil samples from subsurface soils for laboratory analysis. <br /> 3 <br />
