Transfer Station: Transfer Station Capacity— Design 3,072 TPD The Transfer Station is housed in a portion of the enclosed building of 47,200 square feet. There are two waste openings above the load-out bays adjacent to the MSW Tipping Area on the floor of the Transfer Station. Transfer trailers below grade will be top loaded with MSW by a wheeled loader pushing MSW through the waste opening. A transfer vehicle holding 24 tons of municipal solid waste can be loaded in less than 15 minutes. With two transfer trailers being loaded, with an operational average of 8 trucks per hours, 3,072 tons of MSW can be loaded out in a 16-hour day. Material Recovery Facility: The Material Sort Facility is housed in another portion of the enclosed building. There is one pick line primarily for residential recyclables, but is used for commercial recyclables as well. Belt Capacity— Design 480 TPD The sorting system can handle a maximum of 20 tons per hour over the sorting belt. Operating at full capacity over a 24-hour day up to 480 tons of recyclables may be processed on the sort line. Baling Operation — Design 480 TPD The baler is capable of baling 20 tons per hour.
