T
3 and 6.5) On August 9, 2006, 0900 hrs,one shallow perc test boring of 42 inches, one
(12.5 ft) and one 300 inch(25 ft)percolation test borings were drilled with a truck-
mounted Mobile Drill B-24 drill rig. In accordance with EHD rules, no percolation testing was
conducted on the Designated Remainder Parcel.
, The sidewalls of the shallow boring was scored with a pry-bar and the loose material removed. The
sidewalls of the two deeper borings could not be scored due to their depths. Two inches of fine pea
gravel was placed at the bottom and three-inch perforated PVC pipe was inserted in each of the
three test borings. All borings were pre-saturated on August 15, 2006 at 0830 hrs with 12 inches of
water.
✓(§ 6.4) On August 16, 2006, 0800 hrs, percolation testing commenced for the three perc test borings.
There was no standing water after the 24-hour soak period in the borings, as illustrated in Table 1
below. Consequently, EHD Pere Test Procedure#2 was conducted for the three test borings.
According to EHD policy, any number of perc tests can be run,but only a shallow and a deep test
result can be considered"official." Consequently, since the 25 ft test boring had a marginally passing
perc rate, the shallow 42 inch test, and this 25 ft test are the"official'test results. The 12.5 ft boring
is the"unofficial'perc test as denoted by Ms. Lisa Medina,R.E.H.S. of the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department on the EHD Perc Test Form. The last half hour of the tests was
witnessed by Ms. Medina, R.E.H.S. The maximum acceptable perc rate is 60 min/in for shallow perc
tests and 30 min/in for the deep 25 ft test boring.
41
5.4 and 6.8) The following Table summarizes the percolation test results and related data:
TABLE 1
PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS AND RELATED DATA
PARCEL PROPOSED PERC TEST DEPTH POST SOAK PERC TEST
POTENTIAL SEPTIC ACREAGE PERIOD RESULTS
SYSTEM STRUCTURE
EXISTING STATUS
STRUCTURE
Parcel 1 5.00 f Acres 42 INCHES No Standing 20.8 min/in
Leachlines and Seepage Water in Hole
Pits for any Future
Installation. 150 INCHES No Standing 10.4 min/in
Existing House with 12.5 FT Water in Hole
Leachlines and Seepage
Pits 300 INCHES No Standing 27.8 min/in
25 FT Water in Hole
4.0) LOCAL GROUNDWATER AND SURFACE WATER INFORMATION
(§ 4.1) The 1999 Lines of Equal Depth Map published by the San Joaquin County Flood Control
illustrates the groundwater depth to be approximately 150 feet below ground surface(b.g.s.). The
2003 Lines of Equal Elevation Map illustrates the groundwater directional flow to be in a
southwesterly direction, and then toward the Mokelumne River.
Page -3-
Chesney Consulting
