Soil Profile and Geologic Information <br /> The Site is depicted on the Preliminary geologic map of Cenozoic deposits of the Clay <br /> area, California (Bartow and Marchand, 1979). The Site is depicted primarily within the <br /> Laguna Formation map unit, with an area on its eastern side falling within the Mehrten <br /> Formation unit, and a small area of the Modesto Formation upper member near the <br /> southeast corner of the Site (Plate 7). <br /> The surface and near surface soils located at the Site are reported by the USDA Web <br /> Soil Survey to be composed of Corning-Redding complex, Kaseberg loamy sand, <br /> Kaseberg fine sandy loam, Kaseberg loam, Redding loam, Redding gravelly loam, and <br /> Yellowlark gravelly loam (Plate 8) (USDA, 2009). The table below presents some <br /> selected properties of these soils: <br /> Table 1.
