[5] LOCAL SURFACE WATER AND GROUNDWATER INFORMATION
Distance requirements pertaining to the orientation of the entire
septic and well systems for each of the four parcels must be
strictly adhered to, so as to prevent any potential contamination
by sewage effluent into the underlying groundwater.
The 1991 "Lines of Equal Depth of Water in Wells" map produced by
the San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation
District indicates that static water elevation is located at
approximately 85 feet in the area of the subject site. A water
level measurement on the domestic well that services the SFR on the
subject property confirmed this depth with a measurement of 84
feet. The exploratory boring drilled to a depth of 25 feet in the
middle of the subject site, reveals no indication of saturated
soil . However, the soil was moist, due most probably from
irrigation water. There was no evidence of a past history of
groundwater at this depth, such as soil mottling or rustiness. The
groundwater flow appears to be towards the north, although many
factors can influence a localized groundwater directional flow.
The Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) , dated May 15, 1990 were
reviewed at the San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water
Conservation District office. These maps indicate that the subject
property is not in a Zone A which is the 100 yr flood plain. It
is recommended that the Engineer-of-Record for any project
development survey the subject property closely to assess any
potential for flooding.
Groundwater chemical analyses were performed in accordance to the
requirements of the Conditions of Approval. Nitrate,
Dibromochloropropane (DBCP) , and Ethylene Dibromide (EDB)
concentrations were the three constituents analyzed in the
underlying groundwater. Sampling was conducted on June 23 , 1992
from the domestic well at the subject site SFR. Sampling
procedures were performed in accordance to Environmental Protection
4
.Y S
l ! *ali, (,ontrol Inspecticm
