L December 7,2005
NOA Project Number: E05141B
4.0 GROUND WATER INFORMATION
4.1 Ground Water Depth and Gradient
6. The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (1998 and 1999) ground
water depth and elevation maps were reviewed to determine the ground water levels near the Site.
The Fall 1998 and Spring 1999 maps are the most current offiC,6
ma le from the County.
According to these maps (Plates 3-6),ground water lies betwe0 d 70 f t below ground
surface and flows at a gradient of about 10 feet per mile to the st in the vicinity of the
L Site.
No ound water was encountered by the staff of Neil O.Anderson &Associates, Inc. during the
g of a percolation test hole to a depth of 15.98 feet on November 1, 2005.
L 4.2 Potential Ground Water Contamination Issues
L Identifying potential ground-water contamination sources was got part of the scope of work for the
soil suitability study. Potential ground-water contamination can occur from a number of sources
which often include leaky underground storage tanks, agricultural activities, dairies, septic systems
and storm water infiltration. Agricultural activities and the use of septic systems in the area should
be considered potential ground-water contamination sources.
L 4.3 Water Sample Location h
.SJ
_Ongdomestic well exists on the sife. Two permits and a drillers report were found for the address of
26222 East Mahon Road. The first petmit was issued by the San Joaquin EHD to Joe Joseph on
August 24 LR6 dor the installation of a new domestic well. On the same permit is a note indicating
I
tha "fhe old we ust be destroyed under permit.' _no permit was found for this well destruction.
The'second peftnit was issued by the EHD to Joe Joseph on September 23, 1976 for the instalration
of a pump at 26222 East Mahon Avenue. The drillers report was recorded for the same owner at the
` same address on October 2, 1976 from the Department of Water Resources. The permit indicate
that the depth completed for the new well was 190)feet and the depth to groundwater level as
feet. A water sample was taken by Ms. Nancy Rosulek on October 28,2005 from the spigothe
` east side of the residence on Parcel one.
5
V
L
