L.
4.4 Intermediate Zone s
r
4.4.1 January 2005
Thirty-two intermediate zone monitoring wells, ten intermediate zone reclamation wells, and one
shallow-intermediate zone extraction well were sampled for total dissolved chromium in January 2005. ,
Thirty-five of the forty-three samples collected had detectable concentrations of total disso)ved _
chromium ranging from 5.4 ug/I in monitoring well MW428 to 5,200 ug/l in reclamation well I-7(Table
L. 4;Figures 15, 16 and 17).
V, Total dissolved chromium concentrations increased from 160 ug/l to 450 ugA in well I-11 between July
2004 and January 2005 (Dudek,2004) . Well I-10 is downgradient from reclamation well 1-11, which
` began pumping in April 2004. The concentrations of total dissolved chromium detected in well I-10
decreased from 188 ug/l in January 2004 to 21 ug/l in January 2005. Therefore, the addition of I-11 to
the remedial wellfield appears to have captured the chromium that was previously migrating between
reclamation wells I-9 and EW-1, resulting in an apparent reduction of the downgradient areal extent of
the 50 ug/l plume(Figure 15). tia
L4.5 Deep Zone
L 4.5.1 January 2005
f Groundwater samples were collected from ten deep zone monitoring wells and two deep zone
reclamation wells in January 2005 and analyzed for total dissolved chromium. Total dissolved
chromium was detected in two samples at concentrations of 51 ug/l in reclamation well D-2 and 155 ug/l
in reclamation well D-1 (Table 4). Total dissolved chromium was not detected in any of the deep zone
monitoring wells sampled in January 2005.
4.6 California Water Service Wells
4.6.1 January 2005
b
Groundwater samples were collected from wells CWS-20, CWS-35, CWS-52, and CWS-62 in January
Marley Cooling Technologies 3909-09
Semi Annual Groundwater Monitoring Report Dudek&Associates,Inc.
October 2004/January 2005 -1 S- - April 2005
