October 8, 2008 <br /> Er�v�ronr�en?al- Engineering- Geology Project Number 2008015 <br /> Current Off-Site Sources of Contamination <br /> Lased on the investigation conducted for the subject property the following current off-site <br /> potential and/or known above or below ground sources of contamination were identified at the <br /> project site: <br /> • The surrounding land is used for Agriculture. Application of chemicals and fertilizers <br /> may have occurred this year and may continue to occur. <br /> 4. EVALUATION OF SOURCES IDENTIFIED <br /> The property has been used for Agricultural purposes since before 1937 and as a vineyard <br /> since before 1952. The concentrations of chemicals on agricultural properties have been <br /> documented to degrade quickly in soils. however, several trace amounts of historical chemicals <br /> have been known to remain for many years (i.e. DDT, arsenic, chlordane, ect.). Based on the <br /> proposed parcel split, the property will continued to be used for agricultural proposes and <br /> chemicals will continued to.be applied-based-on--thc pesticides permit issued for the site. <br /> 5. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> i <br /> The historica aga the soils with chemicals, however, <br /> sampling of the site is not recommended at this time as the site will continue to be farmed. If the <br /> property is ever converted from agricultural use to another use (i.e. residential, commercial, <br /> public, etc), a sampling and analysis program should be implemented in order to verify the past <br /> land use has not impacted the soils at the site. <br /> JR SWARED CONSULTING,INC.
