FNa
port addresses and evaluates non-point sources of hazardous materials, as well as potential
ources. Non-point sources of hazardous materials include potential agricultural chemical
s and the potential for high nitrate concentrations in the underlying groundwater. Point
investigated on the subject property include: on-site domestic and irrigation wells, mobile
uel storage tanks. No chemical analysis was conducted for this investigation, nor was
inspection of any on-site or surrounding buildings or asbestos containing materials
).
nicipal water and sewer utility hookups are available, consequently, the region has wells
-site septic systems. A Soil Suitability Study and a Nitrate Loading Study will be required
for the completion of this project.
Within the text of this Report, bolded Section (§)numbers are referenced at the beginning of an
applicable Section number, sentence, paragraph or Appendixes that correspond with the EHD
Requirements Checklist for Surface and Subsurface Contamination Reports.
2.0 PAST, PRESENT AND PROPOSED FUTURE USES OF THE SITE
§ 2.1 The region has been dryland farmed since the early 1900's. The area recently became irrigated
in the 1950's. Agricultural production has occurred on, and in the vicinity of the subject site since
this time, primarily forage production for dairy cattle feed. The property currently is planted in
almonds on proposed Parcels"18,1"119" and proposed Parcels 1 through 12. Silage com for dairy
feed is found on proposed Parcels 13 through 17, Parcel "20" and"21."
There are five structures or structural improvements on the property, which include four s ngle
family residences, a shop for ag equipment storage and repair, and a shed. The s'' tic ystems for
these structures are denoted on the Tentati"ap. Irrigation is supplied by the South San Joaquin
Irrigation District(S.S.J.I..D). The domestic well for the referenced houses are denoted on the
Tentative Map. From the 1970-1977 USDA aerial photo, all of the referenced buildings are
denoted, since they were built prior to 1970.
As illustrated on the USDA Soil Map and the USGS Topographical Map, there are no natural
drainage courses through the property since it is entirely farmed.
3.0 IDENTIFICATION OF ALL PAST AND
CURRENT SOURCES OF CONTAMINATION
§ 3.1 The information to complete this report was obtained through direct observation during site
-reconnaissance, government agency consultation, aerial photo survey, or through interviews with
Mr. Ed Machado. Mr. Machado's family has owned the subject property as the"Circle JM Dairy
Trust"since 1955. The previous owner of the Parcel is unknown, and can be considered
inconsequential. Recently acquired Parcels were purchased in 1967 and 1979, with the previous
owner being Mr. Frank Leo, who was also a dairyman.
Page -3-
Chesney Consulting
