Make checks payable to the San Joaquin County Treasurer. N FORMS Ten (10)copies of the completed application information forms(attached)which all owners/applicants must sign. ' 1. MAP If a map is to be amended or added. Ten (10)copies_ • SOILS SUITABILITY If the proposed method of sewage disposal is on-site,and this is permissible,submit a Soil Suitability STUDY Study prepared to the specifications of the Environmental Health Division. • TEXT CHANGE If the text of a plan is to be amended.lSeven(7)copies. • DEED If applicable,one copy of the recorded deed(s)of the property. • General Plan Amendment Applications require compliance.with County Water Policy-see Department of Public Works STEP 4 APPLICATION PROCESSING—Staff will check your application. if anything is missing,you will be notified in writing. The applicant will be sent a postcard once the application has been determined complete. (your application cannot be processed until it is complete./ • CEQA The County will decide if the proposal will have an adverse effect on the environment. If there are no adverse effects,the application will be processed. If4there are potential adverse effects,further environmental review will be required. Projects that have the potential to adversely affect the environment will require the preparation of an E.I.R. This may extend the processing time. • REFERRALS Staff will refer the application to any Countylldepartments,other agencies and surrounding property owners AND ACTION (for a map amendment)affected by your proposal. At the end of a review and comment period a staff report will be prepared and the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing. At the conclusion of the hearing the Commission will either refer the application to the Board of Supervisors will a favorable recommendation or deny the request. The Board of Supervisors will then hold a public hearing and take final action on your request. (Note: Planning Commission deni As must be appealed in order to be heard by the Board of Supervisors.) FINAL ACTION The action of the Commission can be appealed to the Board of Supervisors. The Commission's action is final unless appealed. STEP 5 PERMITS I� • LAND USE Subdivisions and some specific land uses will require permits,which may require an additional public hearing. PERMITS • SANITATION& Projects that will utilize new on-site sanitati Nn disposal and/or on-site wells, must get permits from the WELL PERMITS Environmental Health Division. • BUSINESS If the project involves a business,a Business License must be approved prior to starting operation. LICENSES • BUILDING If the project involves construction,a building permit must be approved prior to commencement of work. PERMITS • OTHER Frequently other local,state and/or federal agencies will require permits prior to new uses being established PERMITS (e.g.Air Pollution Control District, Regional Water Quality Control Board or the Sheriff's Office).
