` k19 KLEINFELDER
File No. 52495.E01
March 8, 2005
L
Mr. Chris Neudeck
` Kjeldsen, Sinnock, and Neudeck
711 N. Pershing Avenue
Stockton, California 95203
60
Subject: Report
Limited Soil Assessment
Silva Trucking Yard
8355 S. Manthey Road
French Camp, California
APN 193-170-28, 29
Dear Mr. Neudeck:
In accordance with your request and authorization, Kleinfelder It s conducted limited soil
` sampling and analysis at the above-referenced subiect site. The results of our investigation are
detailed in this report as follows.
BACKGROUND
Silva Trucking submitted an application (Site Approval Application No. PA-02-400) to the San
Joaquin County Community Development Department (SJCCD) to utilize the subject property
for truck trailer parking. On April 14, 2003 SJCCD granted conditional approval of the
application. One of the conditions, issued from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (EHD), required Silva Trucking to complete a Phase 11 Site Assessment to assess
road base material and evaluate its' potential impacts to soil and groundwater. The road base at
the site included crushed rock and roof tile (manufactured by Monier Life Tile), which was
spread across the site. According to EHD, Monier brand concrete roof tiles have been noted as
having leachable concentrations of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as referenced to Diesel (TPH-
D). Additionally, Mr. Robert McClellon, Unit Supervisor of the EHD Solid Waste Division was
contacted and said the EHD had concerns over potential chromium VI concentrations associated
with the road base.
` Groundwater at the site is approximately 20 feet below the ground surface (bgs) according to the
San Joaquin County Flood Control District (SJCFCD).
L
52495.E01/ST05R268/FB:Iv Page I of
L2005,Kleinfelder, Inc.
