Date: December 3-t, 2001
To: San Joaquin County Community Development Department
From: City of Stockton, Community Development Department, Planning
Division, Permit Center, 425 N. EI Dorado Street, Stockton, CA 95202,
(209) 937-8266
Subject: City Community Development Department Response to San Joaquin
County Referral — SA-01-49
Project Description: Site Approval application to construct a motel, restaurant and
a mini-market gas station on property located at 2584 East Mariposa
Road.
Stockton General Plan Designation: Commercial.
Recommendation: The Community Development Department has no specific
comments on the proposed use of the property. However, in conformance
with General Plan Goals and Policies regarding the development of urban
uses on land adjacent to the City, we recommend that the property be
annexed into the City. In addition, consideration should be given at the same
time to rezoning the northerly adjacent parcel from R-1, Single-Family District,
to C-2, General Business District, if the owner intends to develop it in
conjunction with the subject parcel. The rezoning would make the site's
zoning consistent with its Commercial General Plan designation and facilitate
the orderly development of the overall project area.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this application.
ROGER A. STOREY
DEPUTY CITY MANAGER/
INTERIM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
I
b
::OD 1G RPWI E%COS.CDD.0 D_Library:19844.1
