.OH U R C H OF TRAM
March 20, 1996
San Joaquin County
Community Development Dept.
1810 E. Hazelton Ave.
Stockton, CA 95205-6232
Subject: Pre-Application for Use Permit
Introduction
Southwinds Church of Tracy is a growing church with an average attendance of 550 people on
Sunday mornings. We currently meet at West High School in Tracy. We have recently started
two worship services with the first service having approximately 300 attendees and the second
around 200. We are anticipating further growth in the next year of a total attendance of 750
people.
The church currently owns a church building at 238 West Grantline Rd. in Tracy as well as 16
acres of undeveloped property near the comer of Lammers and Middle roads.
It is this 16 acre parcel for which we are submitting this pre-application for a Use Permit.
We have prepared conceptual drawings and gathered as much information available to us at this
time. We have done this prior to enlisting the services of an Engineer, Architect or Developer
with the intent that although your comments may not be all inclusive, they will give us a better
idea of what County fees and requirements we can anticipate and in tum budget for.
As you are probably aware , Because we are a church, funding for a project like this is mostly
limited to contributions, pledges and fundraisers from our membership, so an accurate budget
forecast is critical.
It is our intention to develop the property in phases as the monies become available. The first
phase of development would equal the space we are currently utilizing with the other phases
being completed in the future to accommodate additional attendance.
"A Church for the Real World!
Post Office Box 238•238 West Grantline Road•Tracy,California 95378•(209)835-HOPE(4673)
FAX:(209)835-1643•EMAIL:southwnd@inreach.com•WEB PAGE:http://users.aol.com/souLhwnds/index.htm
