KLEINFELDER
An employee owned company
03 JUL 23 PM 12: 54
File No. 23197.G01
February 14, 2003
Mr. Ryan Voorhees
CRV Enterprises, Inc.
28082 Nichols Road
Galt, CA 95637
Subject: SOILS SUITABILITY AND NITRATE LOADING STUDY
PROPOSED ASHTON PLACE 2 SUBDIVISION
PETERS, CALIFORNIA
Dear Mr. Vorhees:
Kleinfelder is pleased to present the results of our soil suitability and nitrate loading study for the
proposed 30-acre subdivision (APN 183-320-21, 183-320-22 and 183-320-26) to be located in
Peters, California. The purpose of our study was to determine the suitability of the property for
septic tank usage. The study was performed in general accordance to the requirements of
Section 9-101009 of San Joaquin County Ordinance. The following includes background
information regarding the proposed development, present and past use of the site, and the
historical groundwater information in the project area. In addition, discussions regarding our
investigative procedures and the site conditions encountered during our field exploration, and the
results of percolation tests are presented. Finally, the results of our nitrate loading calculations
and project limitations are provided.
PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
On a preliminary basis, we understand the subject 30-acre project site will be subdivided into
fifteen individual 2-acre lots for single-family residences. Appurtenant construction will include
a paved interior street, various concrete flatwork, and buried utilities. We anticipate the
proposed residences will be one and/or two story, wood frame structures with shallow spread
foundations and concrete slab-on-grade floor systems. Grading plans were not available at the
time this report was prepared. However, as site topography is gently sloping, cuts and fills
during earthwork may be on the order of 5 to 10 feet to provide level building pads.
We anticipate that waste disposal for each residence will be provided by an individual on-site
sewage disposal system consisting of a conventional 1,200 to 1,500 gallon septic tank/leach j
trench disposal system and may include seepage pits. We anticipate that disposal trenches may
23197.G01/ST03R289 February 14,2003
m 2003 Kleinfelder,Inc.
