B. Ranch ( UY111(Lyjj L,.
17399 N. Jack Tone Road ._
Lodi, CA 95240 ;yC,,:p;
Applicant #UP9312
We feel that the property of Mr. Bechthold at 17399 N. Jack Tone,
Lodi, CA is to small (1.91 acres) for a commercial stable and should
not be allowed to have 10 - 15 horsesas he has been having there
before. You are allowed 1 horse for first acre and 1 horse per 1/4 acre
thereafter. However, is this taking in the fact that the property has
a large residence and just as large horse barn?
We are residents of 17222 N. Jack Tone Road, Lodi, CA and have
been owners of this property for 29 years. We are against this
application going through.
If Mr. Bechthold had gotten his permit when he built his horse barn
2 years ago and owners of surrounding property received notices of this
project, maybe this project would not have gotten so far. He obtained
permits after he was turned in , was red tagged and someone in authority
tore up the red tag and kept right on going.
Mr. Bechthold always seems to put the cart before the horse. The
sign for D. B. Ranch has been up since June. Before the application
permit was applied for. He has been in the business of breeding and
sales and boarding for over 1-1/2 years.
East of said ranch down Victor Road to Pony and Pinto is a residential
area with about 27 houses. (See enclosed map.) We live directly across
from said ranch and the prevailing winds (see wind chart) hit us with all
the dirt and dust the horses stir up. My husband has lung problems and
this is affecting him.
In the 29 years we have lived on Jack Tone Road (even when they
reconstructed Jack Tone Road) we have never had dirt and dust in the
house or outside as we do now. Not even when they work up land across
the creek did we get this. A person should not have to put up with this.
We have asked thin to wet the dirt down, and the answer is Mr. Bechthold
will not let them. They still run the horses around to stir up dust.
The smell of horse urine and muck gets so bad you can not stand it.
People are always complaining about it when we have company. The flys
from these horses are so bad, you can't stand it. They just throw the
muck from the horse barn out under the trees on their property.
The diagram of Mr. Bechthold's ranch are way out of proportion. We
know it is not scale. I feel someone needs to check this out. The Barn
and round corral are to close to the road. Riding arena is too small.
Also, when Mr. Bechthold put up his fence took in State Property.
He was also informed about this and this was reported to State Department
of Water resources. Is it permissable to use State Property for personal J
gain and at the tax payers expense?
(1)
