r \� KLEINFELDER 6 SITE RECONNAISSANCE 6.1. METHODOLOGY AND LIMITING CONDITIONS L Mr. Fran Bean, Kleinfelder Staff Geologist, conducted a site reconnaissance on May 3, 2004 to assess and photograph present site conditions. The approximate site boundaries are shown on Plate 2, "Site Map," and color photographs of the site are presented on Plate 3 (Appendix A). r. The site conditions discussed below are limited to readily apparent environmental conditions observed. 6.2. GENERAL SITE SETTING The site is located east of the intersection of Graves Road and Jack Tone Road in Ripon, California. The site is approximately rectangular in shape and comprises approximately 18 acres. The site is fairly level and is covered almost entirely with almond orchard. A dirt road exists along the southern, eastern, and northern boundaries. An irrigation canal is located adjacent to the northeast corner of the site. An irrigation well and wind machine are located approximately in the center of the site. No soil staining was noted in the soils around either the well or the wind machine. Concrete irrigation control structures are located along the eastern boundary of the site. The only structures observed on the site were a large metal storage/maintenance shed and a very small wooden shed noted in the southwest comer of the site. A boat and miscellaneous equipment were observed in the large shed. No chemical storage areas were observed in the shed, nor was any staining noted on the concrete floor. Large piles of.cut wood were located in the vicinity of the shed. No soil stains, nor stressed vegetation, were observed on the site during the site reconnaissance.
