PRorEtr UNDERGROUND WATER
9 April 1999
Mr. Ray Borges
San Joaquin County
Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
304 E. Weber ST., Third Floor
Stockton, CA. 95202
Re: Water Well &Pump at Sutter Home Winery
Dear Mr. Borges,
I am submitting for your consideration and approval the design of the water well&pump at the
Sutter home Winery.
As your are aware we drilled two tests wells and extracted samples. Mr. Bill Holden of
Facility Construction Management has informed me that they plan on treating the water
and want the capability of pumping 1000 gallons per minute at some time in the future.
However they will not be needing that flow as of the present and under the current
demand the winery will require 150 gpm at 100 psi. Their plan is to run it through
treatment then store it in large fresh water storage tank. I have communicated to him that
you will be needing the design proposal before you approve our permit.
We plan to install the following;
Gravel Pack Reverse Circulation Water Well
225 ft 26"Borehole with 195 ft 16" .250 steel Pipe and 30 ft of 16" Stainless Steel Well
Screen including 100 ft Sanitary Grout Seal, Gravel-Packing, Test Pumping, and Pad
The screens will be set from 225 to 195 ft according to the a-log. You will note that from
80 feet there is basically clay until 200 ft. Thus the 100 ft grout seal should prove
acceptable.
Pump and Tank
15 HP Grundfos Stainless Steel Submersible pump installed With 1500 gallon galvanized
tank designed to ASME Code with a working rate of 125 psi. Proposed pumping fate 150
gpm @ 100 psi. I will be submitting final curve sheets after well is drilled and tested to
match the pumping rate.
2024 EAST CHARTER WAY, STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA 95205-7016, TEL: 209/462-7676, FAX: 209/462-5597
GEN ERAt ENGINEERING CONTRACTORS, L Icense No .
