Mr. John Parks
Page 4
The beneficial effect of greater denitrification(>25%)and planting high nitrating consuming
grasses on the septic mound are uncertain. As an option, one way to track the performance of the
system would be to monitor nitrate levels in the shallow ground water near the septic system leach
field. If monitoring is deemed helpful, the details of a program could be arranged between the
County Environmental Health office and the property owner. We believe at least one up gradient
(eastward) monitoring well and one down gradient monitoring well (westward) could be used for
comparisons. These wells could be placed 200 feet east and 50 feet west of the septic system. A
third monitoring well could be placed at some larger distance down gradient(say 1000 ft west or at
the western boundary of the property).
Due to the large size of the parcel,we believe the use of the septic system will not adversely
affect the ground water of the region. The septic design and installation should follow the current
San Joaquin County criteria.
IV LIMITATIONS
The conclusions of this report are based on the information provided regarding the existing
and proposed development, the use of the subject property, and the site conditions as they existed
at the time of our investigation. It was assumed that the test holes and ground water tests are
representative of the subsurface conditions in the general area.
Our professional services were performed, our findings obtained, and our conclusions
proposed in accordance with generallyaccepted engineering principles and practices. This warranty
is in lieu of all other warranties either expressed or implied. Test findings and statements of
professional opinion do not constitute a guarantee or warranty, expressed or implied.
Very truly yours,
NEIL O.
