Glean stone, gravel, slag, or similar filter :material <br /> acceptable to the Administrative Authority, varying in size from three <br /> fourths (3/4) inch to two and one-half (2-1/2) inct as (19.1 mm to 63.5 <br /> mrn) shall be placed in the trench to the depth and grade required by this <br /> section. Drain pipe shall be placed on filter material in an approved <br /> ~. manner. The drain lines shall then be covered witfi filter material to the <br /> minimum depth required by this section and this owered with untreated <br /> building paper, straw, or similar porous material -.o prevent closure of <br /> voids with earth backfill. No earth backfill shall beR laced over the filter <br /> material cover until after inspection and acceptance. <br /> (c) A grade hoard staked in the trench to the depth of filter matarial <br /> shall.be utilized when distribution line is constructed with drain tile or a <br /> flexible pipe material which will not maintain alignment witt:oaut <br /> continuous support. <br /> (d) When seepage pits are used in combinatior with disposal fiE-Ids, <br /> the filter material in the trenches shalt terminate at least five (5) feet (1.5 <br /> m) from the pit excavation and the line extending from such paints to the <br /> seepage pit shall be approved pipe with watertight jc ints. <br /> (e) Where #IMO (2) or more drain lines are installed, an approved <br /> distribution box of sufficient size to receive lateral tries shall be installed <br /> at the head of each disposal field. The inverts of all outlets shall be level <br /> and the invert of the inlet shall be at least one (1) inch (25.4 mm) above <br /> the outlets. Distribution boxes shall be designed to 'iL sure-mow ,and <br /> shall be installed on a level concrete slab in natural[r compacted soil. <br /> Distribution boxes shall be coated on the insi ie with a bituminous <br /> coating or other approved method acceptable to the Ad Ttinistrative Authority. <br /> (f) All laterals from a distribution box to the dl:tposal field shall be <br /> approved pipe with watertight joints.
