REPORT
SUTTER HOME WINE PROCESSING FACILITY
PERCOLATION TEST
L `
1.0 INTRODUCTION
Percolation tests were performed at the site in accordance with procedures traditionally used by the San
Joaquin County Public Health Services Department of Environmental Health Division(EDH) to asses the
efficacy of leach fields for sewage disposal. Mr. Steve Mindt of the EDH inspected the tests.
Groundwater was observed within 26 inches of the surface. Percolation rates from all four tests were
"equal:to or greater than 480 minutes per inch. This report satisfies the scope of work described in the
Consulting Agreement Change Order, dated August 26, 1998, between Southeast Facility Engineers, Inc.
and Condor Earth Technologies,Inc. (Condor).
2.0 FIELD INVESTIGATION
Four percolation test borings were installed on Monday, August 31, 1998 at the locations shown on the
attached map. All test holes were 12 inches in diameter. Test holes were 36 inches deep at PERC 42,
PERC 13, and PERC 14. Groundwater was encountered at 26 inches below the surface in the first test
hole, PERC #1. A substitute hole was drilled to 18 inches in depth, approximately 8 feet south of the
original hole. Holes were pre-saturated on August 31, 1998. Percolation tests were performed on
September 1, 1998 in accordance with EDH policy, copy attached. Field data sheets and a copy of the test
permit application are also attached.
1 3.0 RESULTS
All tests were performed using procedure #1 on the Policy for Percolation Test Procedure (attached). At
PERC 91, PERC #2, and PERC #3 the measured drop was 1116th of an inch in 30 minutes. At PERC #3
no drop was measurable.
TABLE I
Summary of Percolation Test Results
TEST NUMBER TEST LOCATION TEST HOLE DEPTH PERCOLATION RATE
(inches) (min/inch)
PERC#1 See site map 18 480
PERC#2 See site map 36 480
PERC#3 See site map 36 Not measurable
PERC 94 See site map 36 480
i
' 4.0 LIMITATIONS AND SIGNATURE
Results presented in this report are based on limited information obtained at the time of our site visits.
Condor endeavored to determine as much as practical about the site using standard practice given our
scope of services.
