LJ KLEINFELDER
L
L
File: 20-YP1-684
August 22, 2001
L
Mr. Wayne Le Baron
Le Baron Development
P.O. Box 70188
Stockton, California 95267
Subject: Proposal
Phase I Environmental Site Assessment
Jahant Road and Elliott Road
Lodi, California
Dear Mr. Le Baron:
L Please review the enclosed scope of work for a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) of
the subject property. Kleinfelder's scope of work will be completed in accordance with the
L ASTM E1527-00 "Standard Practice for Environmental Assessments: Phase I Environmental
Site Assessment Process" requirements unless directed otherwise by Le Baron Development. It
is our understanding that the subject property is approximately 80 acres and is currently vineyard.
` Pertinent information obtained during the project will be verbally reported prior to the final
report of findings. A final report will include results, discussions of concerns, and
recommendations for additional work, if needed. The proposed scope of work can be completed
for a fee of$3,500 on a lump sum basis and will require approximately 4 to 6 weeks to complete
from the date we receive written authorization. The length of time required to complete the
` Phase I is dependent upon how long it takes local regulatory agencies to process our requests for
information_ Our estimated completion time is based on our experience with agencies in the
project area.
If our research indicates that additional investigation or sampling and analysis are recommended,
a separate scope of work, budget, and schedule will be submitted for your approval. A phase one
ESA does not typically include sampling and analysis. Other services can be provided to further
understand the site conditions. These services include, but are not limited to, soil vapor surveys,
asbestos building material surveys, threatened/endangered species assessments, wetlands surveys,
geophysical surveys, geotechnical investigations, and industrial compliance assessments. These
services can be provided for additional fees.
b. In order to proceed with the assessment tasks in a timely manner, we have enclosed an
Professional Services Agreement (Contract). Please note that its terms and conditions are an
20-YP 1-684/2011 P239/201 I C444 Page iof ii
Copyright 2001,Kleinfelder,Inc. August 22,2001
V
